Cambridge College Gardens
UPDATE: THE EVENT HAS NOW SOLD OUT. If you would like to be put on a waiting list, in case of cancellations, etc, please send an email to Paula Sargeant at Perennial.
We have the chance to walk around three beautiful College Gardens (Newnham, Clare and Peterhouse) escorted by the Head Gardener at each College. Tea and coffee on arrival at Newnham College, with a light lunch en route .
Our host for the day will be Tony Arnold, Head Gardener at Newnham College and Chair of the Professional Gardeners’ Guild.
We start the day at Newnham, where we park our cars and don our walking shoes! Newnham has 18 acres of gardens, including vast tree studded lawns, and it is renowned for its Iris Collection, and beautiful herbaceous borders.
The gardens at Clare have fine specimen trees, clipped yew hedges, a formal sunken pond garden, herbaceous borders, spacious informal lawns leading to the river.
Peterhouse is the oldest of the Cambridge colleges founded in 1284, with 5 acres of tranquil gardens.
Note: we will be walking from garden to garden, it is not possible to drive from garden to garden.BOOK TICKETS
