Contractor on board for Perennial’s Tatton Park garden

Perennial has appointed GK Wilson Landscape Services as hard landscaping contractor for its show garden at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park in July. The Perennial Legacy Garden is designed by acclaimed garden designer Paul Hervey-Brookes and aims to highlight the role that Perennial plays as the only charity dedicated to helping horticulturists in times of need.

GK Wilson Landscape Services has a strong track record at RHS flower shows, having won Best in Show at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park on both occasions it has taken part, in 2012 and 2014. Based in Glossop, Derbyshire, the company was established by Gareth Wilson over 25 years ago and provides landscaping services across Derbyshire and Cheshire.

Anita Bates, Director of Marketing & Development at Perennial, says:

“We are very pleased to welcome Gareth Wilson and his company to our show garden team. Creating a garden like this is such a huge team effort and we couldn’t do it without the experience and expertise of seasoned professionals such as Gareth and our designer Paul Hervey-Brookes. We still have opportunities available for sponsors of the garden. Getting involved in this way provides a fantastic promotional platform for any company, as well as demonstrating support for Perennial.”

Gareth Wilson comments:

“We are very excited to be part of the team creating the Perennial Legacy Garden. Tatton Park is a wonderful flower show and some of our proudest experiences have been with our gardens there. We are looking forward to building what we are sure will be a spectacular garden, while helping support and promote the important work that Perennial does.”

The design for the Perennial Legacy Garden is based on elements of a large English country estate, which links with the charity’s foundations that lie firmly in the great country gardens and estates of Great Britain. The planting palette is a rich tapestry of traditional and contemporary herbaceous perennials, taking its inspiration from long mixed borders such as those at Arley Hall and Upton House. The garden also looks to the future, providing the focus for the launch of the charity’s exciting new Legacy Fundraising Plans.

The RHS Flower Show Tatton Park runs from 22 – 26 July 2015. For more information visit rhs.org.uk/tatton.
